Laser cutting

Laser is a technology that is increasingly being used to cut many types of materials. The laser cutting machine offers great advantages such as versatility, speed and precision.

Laser technology consists of a generator that emits a beam of light in a straight line, concentrating the energy in a very small spot.

The light beam of the L.A.S.E.R. (acronym Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) has 3 main characteristics: it must maintain coherence, monochromaticity and high brilliance, derived from the large power concentrated on a very small area. These properties allow engraving and cutting.

Cutting is achieved by striking the material with a focused beam, concentrated in a beam half a millimetre in size: the resulting heating causes, depending on the material, either melting or vaporisation, which results in pass-through and cutting.

The laser beam penetrates the material, cuts it from a certain point following a geometry previously acquired by the machine.
